OKX futures trading with top-3 global liquidity
OKX runs one of the deepest derivatives order books in crypto. Trade perpetual swaps, dated futures, and options with up to 100x leverage — and pay less on every contract with the fee discount code.
What you can trade
- Perpetual swaps — no expiry, USDT- or coin-margined, 300+ pairs
- Dated futures — weekly, monthly, and quarterly expiries for hedging
- Options — BTC and ETH calls/puts with transparent mark pricing
- Pre-market futures — gain exposure to tokens before spot listing
New to derivatives? Start with the OKX futures beginner guide — it walks through contracts, order types, and funding from zero.
Leverage and margin modes
OKX lets you match margin behaviour to your strategy — a key reason experienced traders rank it highly in our exchange comparison.
Isolated margin
Risk is capped per position. A liquidation only consumes the margin assigned to that one trade — the beginner-safe default.
Cross margin
Your whole account balance backs open positions, making liquidation less likely but exposing the full balance.
Portfolio margin
Offsetting positions across products net against each other — the most capital-efficient mode for hedged strategies.
Futures fees with the discount code
Derivatives fees look small per trade but dominate costs for active traders. With the code from the fee page applied at sign-up, the standard tier drops to:
| Fee type | Standard | With code | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maker (limit orders) | 0.020% | 0.014% | You add liquidity to the book |
| Taker (market orders) | 0.050% | 0.035% | You remove liquidity instantly |
| Funding rate | Variable (paid between traders) | Every 8 hours on perpetuals | |
Regular-user Lv 1 rates with 30% rebate. Higher-volume tiers are listed on the fee discount page.
Risk tools worth switching on
Leverage cuts both ways. OKX ships risk controls that beginners should enable before the first position — our safety review covers the account-security side.
- Take-profit / stop-loss — attach TP/SL when opening any position
- Trailing stops — lock in gains automatically as price moves
- Position limits — cap maximum exposure per contract
- Liquidation price preview — see your liquidation level before confirming
- Demo trading — practice with paper funds before risking capital
